Following indigenous traditions of all continents and times, this is the native sauna. In Sol Nueva Aurora we carry it out with grandparent stones, taken from the Aurora, a mystical and very energetic place with lots of healing power, namely the grotto of Padre Pío. Along with the grand-parent stones, a herbal tea is poured out, whose steam cleans our body and purifies our lungs and blood-stream. The cure manifests on psychic and spiritual levels too. The ceremony lasts at least three hours, in which the four (physical and symbolic) doors are opened.
Benefits
Temazcal therapy is based on causing body sweat through medicinal steam. Sweating by itself already has a high curative value, and additionally, inhaling the steam increases the healing powers of the Temazcal. This steam is produced by the contact of the herbal water with the red-hot stones.
Each herb has various medicinal qualities: e.g. chamomile helps clean the eyes and restore good digestion, eucalyptus helps combat respiratory diseases, and so forth.
In general, this ritual is good to relax, cleanse the skin, purify the body, strengthen the heart, clearance of the blood, to cure many dieases, open the mind, develop perception, find solutions to problems, meditate and also to maintain healthy family, community and cultural relationships.
